ONE ISLAM – ONE ALLAH, ONE PROPHET, AND ONE QUR’AN

Allah (SWT) says:

“And hold fast to the rope of Allah, altogether, and do not become divided. And remember Allah’s blessings upon you; how you were enemies, and He reconciled your hearts, and by His grace you became brethren. And you were on the brink of a pit of fire, and He saved you from it. Allah thus clarifies His revelations for you, so that you may be guided.” (Surah aal-Imraan : 103) Continue reading “ONE ISLAM – ONE ALLAH, ONE PROPHET, AND ONE QUR’AN”

PEACE: A HALLMARK OF A TRUE MUSLIM

Islam as a universal religion is the religion practiced by all the true Prophets and Messengers sent by Allah with the core principle of monotheism (the belief in a single deity/ worshiping only one and true God). That is why after Allah gave a detailed story of the various prophets, He concluded it with the saying “Surely this Islam is your religion, one religion (only) and I am your lord, therefore serve Me.” (Q; 21:92)
In Qur’an 23:52, Allah says “And verily! This your religion (Islamic monotheism) is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me.” As a complete and perfected religion of Allah (Q; 5:3), nothing was left unexplained. Allah says in Qur’an 6:38 “…. We have not neglected anything in the Book (Qur’an) ….” Thus, Islam is more than just a religion but rather a way of life, it regulates every sphere of the individual’s life ranging from economic, social, spiritual, and political among others. Broadly speaking, Islam can be zero down to two concepts, namely Ibadat (Man to Allah relationship) and Muamalat (Human to Human relationship). Continue reading “PEACE: A HALLMARK OF A TRUE MUSLIM”

Leadership Counsel by Imam Ali (A.S)

1456074661395Imam Ali (a.s) advised Malik al-Ashtar when he appointed him governor of Egypt when he was the caliph of the Muslim Ummah as follows:

Surely, the virtuous are known by the reputation that Allah circulates for them through the tongues of His creatures. Therefore, the best collection with you should be the collection of good deeds. So, control your passions and check your heart from doing what is not lawful for you, because checking the heart means detaining it just half way between what it likes and dislikes.
